‘Preppin for our Ride’

Or what I call, getting the ‘bucks outta da skins’…pun intended :)

Took these as I was working Indy and Rain in the round pen today before going out on the trails around the house.

The last two shots were taken at my favorite spot on our trails, by the river!

Sorry for the weird angles but these shots were taken with the camera slung over my shoulder at hip perspective.

Nikon 85mm…Part Deux

Trying out the 85mm lens again this morning.

The StillWater Ranch horses/mule are here for the weekend so I thought this would be a great time to try out the lens again.

Sasha and Bas decided to play along as well as my lil Tuki.

Enjoy!

Ya Gotta Luv Nikon’s 85mm Lens

After 6 hours of piling, splitting and stacking firewood the cold rain finally broke away to a lovely evening.

I went to let Tuki out to pee and brought along the D80 and the 85mm for fun.

These are not the most impressive, technically sound photos by any means but I like blogging so here you have it! :p

As always thanks for looking, this is my family! :)

Mommy Cut My Hair!

Tuki was looking a little like a raggedy man so instead of forking over $50 bucks for a doggie day spa trim I decided to take on the task myself!

Now I dont think Vidal Sassoon will be calling anytime soon but I think he looks really cute :)

Here are before and after shots:

Now I can take that $50 bucks and buy him a special treat for embarrassing him in front of his friends :)

Why I love my Cuppa Joe!

Next time you think of a photograph…think of what lengths the photographer went to capture it!

The keyphrase is, “the ultimate light bulb changing shots!”

this is why I love photography!

Went up the Mountain…

Again!

Nice day, nice ride, even greater was the family that I had the pleasure of riding with.

Dalton and Barb had a family of four go along on their guided horseback rides this afternoon and invited me to come along…this time I brought the camera.

Not many photos taken, at least 80% below my norm but I did manage to take a few…my right elbow is pretty banged up from the camera sliding back and fourth into it, so I think I will find an alternate sling for my camera.

Here are the shots from today I chose to share with y’all! :)

The family pics  can be found under the clients proofs area!

Neener, Neener, Neener!

Just something to make you smile! :)

Playing with off camera flash this morning, Rain decides he wasnt liking the horse paparazzi much.

4H Pony Riders

Went over to Barb and Dalton’s this evening to watch the kids from the 4H ride the ponies.

Barb and Dalton run The Stillwater Ranch, they offer their guided horseback trail rides service  here in Sultan, WA.

The sun kept creeping in and outta the clouds but I managed to get a couple good shots to share with everyone…

Would have liked to try some of my off camera flash work I’ve been practicing but didnt want to scare the ponies so all photos were taken in aperture priority with natural light.

Enjoy!
