Our niece Nikki and her boyfriend Shea came to visit Rickani Ranch for the weekend and we had a blast…

On the list of things to do that were accomplished: hiking, horseback riding, swimming and blowing up stuff!

Radio Flyer Part II

He is such an adventurer!

Two days ago I went to the gate to pick up our pizza delivery and Chris from “Little Bear Ranch” and Dalton and Barb from “Stillwater Ranch” were rescuing a pup that was entangled in the bushes outside our gate. After paying for the pizza I told them I would take the lil bugger and keep him in the barn until further notice.

After 2 days of calling the local veterinary clinic and city hall, the owner left a note on our gate about the missing pup. I phoned her and yesterday afternoon she came and picked up one of the sweetest little girlie pups I’ve met in a long time. Laurel explained that she had just acquired the pup and that she was most likely from a puppy mill and treated very badly. She was taking the pup for a walk when it broke free and ran off. She will definitely need some special love and attention.

Good luck Laurel with getting “River”  [the name we affectionately gave her while staying with us] acclimated to her new home!

Rain and Kopy Kat think they can pretend no one notices that they are sweet on each other…but this guilty look after I surprised them by sneaking up on them tells us all the story.

I love these lil buggers, they are just way too cute! These are by no means the best photos I could have taken, but I snuck these in as their Mama was out catching bugs for breakfast!

I think there are a total of 5 babies in that tiny nest sitting in the barn on the fluorescent lamp.

Last night we all went down to the river for a BBQ and fireworks extravaganza! We ate yummy food, spent time with friends and enjoyed the sunset to celebrate a fantastic Independence Day!
