I eventually caught the little culprit and put him in the dog run until he went back home. I love the shots of Cimarron rolling around on the ground ;)

But needless to say, I still gotta ride – cold toes and all! So I rode down to one of my favorite spots and used my phone to snap this picture of Rain and me. Now some would think a 10 second timer would be long enough to run back and get a good pose, but with grass under a horses hooves it is tough to get there attention so I settled for just one, besides it was a lot warmer in the saddle.

Since Rick and I updated our ancient cell phones and become cool and techie with our new HTC Sprint phones I rarely miss moments because it so convenient to have a camera on my phone with me at all times. I know that the quality of the photos would be better if I was using my Nikon DSLR but I must say it is such a fun way to capture some nice moments and to share them with friend and family. Below are a few from yesterday and today.

I’m still getting use to having a smart phone but I just love being able to take photos anytime I want. I found out that the HTC EVO 4G Android Phone (Sprint) can really handle some nice lighting situations, plus close ups but I did notice that with such harsh light coming down it did cause a little bit if distortion but none the less still love the capture anyways.

In a nutshell I got to work with Cimarron, my Spanish Mustang, we rode for an hour in the round pen working on transitions and flexing then went for a walk on our trails around the property. Indy was watching intentlyas I worked with Cimarron; so after Cimarron and I were through, I decided to bring her in the barn and saddle her for the first time in a year since her unexplained/undiagnosed injury. She was calm, quiet and once I got her in the round pen she was so responsive and she seemed so willing…I teared up at just being able to ride again…a year ago all the vets told me that she would never be the same again and they all gave me the look that I should put her down but needless to say I stuck with my gut and she is walking again without any hint of her peculiar injury.

I brought along my camera just because the day was so beautiful, below are some shots I took from the day!

I’m glad I decided to take the Flip with me on this ride. I made a short little video with my new Flip UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes (Black), I was surprised how well the video turned out because we were walking on some rocky trails and I shot it handheld the entire way.

The music is pretty cool, the rhythm fits Rain perfectly.

I think I am going through a phase of no motivation/lack inspiration; hopefully I’ll get over this soon. Besides between all the visitors and home projects Rick and I have taken on it is a wonder I have time to breathe.

Well for now I will share this image of my lil buddy Cimarron, he hasnt been feeling well for the past 8 weeks; he has some weird condition that was unexplained until the other night after the cultures returned from the lab. Now that he is on the mend and Indy as well it looks like I will have more time to be “photographer Ani” and less time being “nurse Ani”.

Taken with my Nikon D90 and processed in Photoshop CS5 using some filters and my imagination to bring out the light etc.
