It was a gorgeous spring like day so I grabbed the camera to take with me to the barn. The horses had their blankets on and I thought it would probably feel really nice to have the warmth of the sun on their backs instead of their blankets.
As I was grooming Indy someone fired off a round in the woods and I was lucky enough to get this shot, her ears forward, eyes wide and body alert.
I played around with it in CS3 using some brushes, the dodge tool and a couple of Nik filters.
I really love how this one turned out…it is now my favorite picture I have of her.
This morning Rick, Bas, Tuki and myself took a little road trip to visit our friend Bill at his new cabin. It is right on the river and it needs a little work but it is just perfect for the great fisherman we know as Bill
This little A frame really has alot of charm and once Bill finishes the maintenance on it I’m sure it will be an outstanding place to live in.
So we got a really out of the blue call from our friend John, he lives on the island next to our old place in Canada. He is back in the states for the tradeshows and decided to pop in for a visit…
Well no one stops by Rickani Ranch and leaves before heading to the shooting range!
Here is a little slideshow of pics with the neighbors…everyone heard, “we were going to blow up stuff!”
I’ve been really sick now for the past few weeks with one of the most dreadful flu conditions I think I’ve ever had. It is not often that I even catch a cold let alone this tormenting flu. However, I still manage to keep the camera handy; it is simply amazing how playful horses are…a simple increase in the wind, rain, snow and even the very presence of bambi and off they go running and bucking
So I caught a horrible bug going into town the other day and I’ve gone through two boxes of tissues in 48 hours and 3 layers of skin under my noise…OUCH!
So this afternoon when Rick asked me to accompany him to town, I obliged. I needed the break anyway’s from my self pitying-self-loathing icky-sickiness.
I decided to bring along my camera for kicks and giggles; I usually bring it along, but today was just one of those days where I felt anything could happen.
So what happens you ask?
Well, I decided to take photos from our truck as we were headed towards town and to our enroute destinations.
“DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS”
BTW, I picked up the prints for the Santa photo shoot and will be delivering them tomorrow God willing if the predicted category 3 hurricane/blizzard does not hit town…
Anyways, back to my story…once I returned home I sorted the prints into their perspective packages and then I decided to view the shots/photos from our trip to town…then brilliance happened; as I listened to Norah Jones’, ”Long Way Home”, I decided to add the photos to the track and make it into a slideshow!
Isn’t it just brilliant!
I think the fever is making me delirious…but I hope you enjoy the slide show anyways
Our lovely Christmas photo with Santa…it is the first one ever! To bad we couldnt fit the 5 chickens, two pixiebobs and Indy and Rain’ our two b.e.a.u.tiful Buckskins!
This was taken at the Santa photo shoot for Front Porch Feed and Mercantile this past Sunday.
The proofs are online and I am currently working on getting the shopping cart added for direct printing as well as uploading previous photos from different assignments.
