No Comments The sun is shining, spring is in full bloom and the bugs are awake so its time to dust off the macro lens and discover tiny Earth once again.

No Comments We keep getting mixed weather patterns here in the PNW, some morning’s its way to warm for this time of the year and then you get frost like this morning. (See shot below)
I’m hoping it will be that way tomorrow morning as I’m planning on shooting with the Nikon FE and Micro Nikkor 60mm 1:2.8G ED to experiment with film macro shots.

No Comments Today I started playing with the new presets that Craft and Vision released for Adobe Lightroom by photographers Dave Delnea and David duChemin. There are a total of 79 if you purchase both sets or 46 Lightroom Presets from landscape photographer Dave Delnea‘s set and 36 belonging to the duChemin collection.
I opened up some recent photos from my trip to Orcas Island with Rick, as you can see in the image below the washed vintage presets are clean and not overly done. What’s great about these is you have total control on the adjustments of each filter allowing you to add your own pizzazz and flare.

Another one of Delnea’s presets are the “Desaurated Greens” which to me I think work a lot better on landscapes than they do on the image below of Tuki and Rick on the bridge crossing. The great thing about such a wide variety is you can create so many effects and save them as your own user defined presets.

From the screen shot below there are plenty to choose from and while I prefer to use my own that I’ve created in CS6, I still wanted to try these out as an exercise in Lightroom and to understand the workflow process of both photographers as outlined in the accompanying ebooks.

The presets were $10 a piece but you can get the bundle for $18 which is totally worth it for the ebooks alone. I love reading the thought process of other photographers and that’s what the ebooks provided along side the presets, the ebooks are filled with a bunch of examples as well on how to apply the presets effectively. These are a great tutorial for inspiring my own creativity.
If you are looking for a fun way to enhance your photos I highly recommend you get these and go to town with the presets, they are nicely done and will definitely give your images some pop. However if you’re like me and want to feed your creative mind a bit more, you can purchase a copy of the bundle and download them as a study tool to define your own style and/or to create your own presets in Lightroom.
Enjoy Bellas!

No Comments I’ve been playing with the D200 and 50mm quite a bit lately.
Here’s another one from the garden, I’m actually more fond of this one than the last tulip photo I posted.
