This morning Petey the mini mule from the Stillwater Ranch stopped by for a visit and had Cimarron worked up’d and on alert, here are some quick shots of Cimarron on alert. I eventually caught the little culprit and put him in the dog run until he went back home. I love the shots of Cimarron rolling around on the ground

I was taking updated shots for the vet today and snapped a nice little accident of Cimarron. It was way overexposed but something about it I liked so I brought it into photoshop and messed around a little and came up with this…

I really liked how it turned out, his eyes are always so expressive.

Havent posted anything in a long time, I actually havent even used my camera in a while. I think I am going through a phase of no motivation/lack inspiration; hopefully I’ll get over this soon. Besides between all the visitors and home projects Rick and I have taken on it is a wonder I have time to breathe.

Well for now I will share this image of my lil buddy Cimarron, he hasnt been feeling well for the past 8 weeks; he has some weird condition that was unexplained until the other night after the cultures returned from the lab. Now that he is on the mend and Indy as well it looks like I will have more time to be “photographer Ani” and less time being “nurse Ani”.

Taken with my Nikon D90 and processed in Photoshop CS5 using some filters and my imagination to bring out the light etc.

Cimarron, Spanish Barb/Mustang

Our friends and horse trainers Quinton and Danielle of Desfountain.com graciously offered to help me get Cimarron started under saddle. So yesterday Cimarron and I took the 2 mile walk to the barn where Quinton and Danielle train their beautiful Arabian horses. Below are some pics from yesterday.

I’ve been abscent alot since the winter has been really drab; this morning however we had a dust of snow laying all around the pasture so I decided to get the boys playing…they really didnt need much encouragement. I just love watching Cimarron’s movement as he holds his beautiful head up high and run free.

I was able to get a couple shots but the following two are my favorites.

Saddled up the boys today and took Cimarron out for a workday…I asked Rick to take some pictures before we left, see below:

This is Cimarron, Indy and Rain’s new little brother. We got him a little over 3 weeks ago. [The reason for lack of posts BTW]

He is going to be 3 years old in April. Since we brought him home he has been an absolute joy.

I’ve given him his first bath, wormed him and taught him that it is ok to play with humans. He pretty much is greenier than the spring grass here in WA, but so eager to please.

We have been working with the little guy as much as possible between all the chores, loose ends, and multiple projects/jobs I need to get caught up on. Today I spent about 2 1/2 hours with him playing the seven games by Pat Parelli and just teaching to accept all the crazy stuff I want him to learn. He really is a smart, patient and pretty much a solid little guy.

I measured him on Saturday and he is just 14 hands and around 750lbs.

After our training I decided to take him for alittle walk through the trails and he was not phased by anything.
