Trine & Gusto

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and shooting Trine and Gusto this past weekend. Their story and bond are unique and beautiful. Gusto is a 19 year old Warmblood that Trine has owned for 9 years, he has a degenerative disease but you would never have known it by witnessing the energy and spirit he has…

Trine wanted a very photojournalist approach to the shoot; just what I love doing…after all I am the ultimate “horse paparazzi”, so we got some shots of Gusto at play with his pasture buddies, Trine grooming him and then we went for some traditional portraits of the two of them.

Here are a couple of my favorites from the many wonderful photos from the Saturday.

Brothers in Equus

A recent shot from a friends ranch where they produce Curlies (The Sioux and Crow Indians had Curly horses as early as 1800 and it was said that they were first discovered by white men in America in the wild herds of mustangs in Eastern Nevada, at the turn of the 20th Century). This is a fairly new breed of horse to me but very intereting to look at and the stallion (Bilbo) on the left is one of the sweetest and most gentle horses.

Thanks Chris and Wim for letting me visit your Curlies :)
