It was seriously a cold day, were actually breaking records this November with the cold weather were having. But needless to say, I still gotta ride – cold toes and all! So I rode down to one of my favorite spots and used my phone to snap this picture of Rain and me. Now some would think a 10 second timer would be long enough to run back and get a good pose, but with grass under a horses hooves it is tough to get there attention so I settled for just one, besides it was a lot warmer in the saddle.

Looks like the rain’s gonna start coming down here is good old Sultan so I wanted to go for one last trail ride with Rain before the storm hit and sure enough 5 minutes after getting home it came down. I’m glad I decided to take the Flip with me on this ride. I made a short little video with my new Flip UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes (Black), I was surprised how well the video turned out because we were walking on some rocky trails and I shot it handheld the entire way.

The music is pretty cool, the rhythm fits Rain perfectly.

8 hours through the river loop, pass the concrete bridge and then up Cougar trail panning for gold. Indy was sorta good girl but since she is my horse we’ll look pass the couple naughty little mishaps [a least for tonight] since she got me home safe and sound

I love that horse!

Our niece Nikki and her boyfriend Shea came to visit Rickani Ranch for the weekend and we had a blast…

On the list of things to do that were accomplished: hiking, horseback riding, swimming and blowing up stuff!

The girls wanted to ride today so I saddled up Rain for them to see what it is like in saddle, but needless to say they were very hesitant once they got up, so I walked them around the property until they had enough…

These are a couple more shots from last night…some of the neighbors stop by to work their horses in the outdoor arena. Taken more for practice than anything else. I used my Nikon 70-300mm for the first time.
