Sunday evening’s prediction of a thunder/lightning storm gave Rick and I an opportunity to become official storm chasers. So we packed up on the quad and headed up the logging roads behind our place to the lookout. All day long the threatening sounds of thunder roared throughout the sky. Every once in awhile the horses would look up and gaze into the distance at the sounds.
We headed out about 1 1/2 hours before sunset would be complete to hopefully catch some spectacular skies. As we were half way to our destination the sky began to change and the dark sky and clouds were becoming more luminous by the second.
In spite of our initial purpose for storm watching we still found ourselves in awe of the wonders that God was showing us as we motored on. We finally came to a stop at one of the highest peaks on our trek.
Here is what transpired:
Genesis 1:15 “and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.
